“Finding the missing piece inside their hearts.”

I’ve always had an intrigue and a creative side for storytelling. When an idea comes into my mind, I have to write it down to ensure that I do not forget it. Each fragment is extremely important and very personal.
I have understood this to a level of screenplay writing, short story writing, and feature film writing. My approach to this begins with just a fragment of an idea. A tiny spark that has a potential to become a whole narrative. The challenge for me is to understand this fragment, what comes before and after it, and understanding its mood. Usually I get this creative idea and the ideas after it by clearing my mind, and leave it open for any inspiration. I meditate or allow myself to relax, creating a mental space where my ideas can flow.
I listen to music that fits the tone I am looking for. The music is a catalyst, pulling me into a realm of the unconscious, where I can understand the story and the characters. As I connect the individual pieces, bringing them to the page, I lay the scenes out in my head and carefully consider the light, costumes, make-up, vocal tones and inflections and the music for each scene. I form a detailed picture to visualize the unfolding story before I even write it down.
Once I begin to write them down, more ideas flow. I am open and free to think of everything. Sometimes the short stories develop into feature-length scripts. It’s about maintaining the essence and beauty and my true belief in the story and my real intent to film it. Practical constraints like budget, locations, and available resources are factors I think about navigating as I write. I adapted to these limitations rather than seeing them as issues. It is a test of my resourcefulness and creativity to produce an effective and in-depth story.
This approach to writing, a process of artistic freedom and practical design, testifies to my determination, creativity, and resourcefulness. Each script I create is a force behind my ability to dream, adapt, and transform.
